This piece is reflective of my personal aesthetic and is also on brand with my Etsy shop, Black Design Market. Here, I used a simple composition to get the point across. In my mind, the piece looked great finished with a white background. However, when it was ‘done’, something felt like it was missing. I put it in photoshop to see if a black background would be better before I committed to painting the whole canvas, and it looked great. I went with the black background which really completes the work and adds a great contrast to the pointillism drawing.
